William S. Rilling, MD FSIR is Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and his Fellowship in Vascular Interventional Radiology at Northwestern University in Chicago in 1996. He has been practicing at the Medical College of Wisconsin since 1996 in the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Rilling is also Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in the Department of Radiology.
Dr. Rilling’s areas of interest include image guided therapy of a variety of cancers with an emphasis on liver cancer using chemoembolization, y-90 radioembolization, as well as local ablative strategies such as radiofrequency, microwave and cryoablation. Dr. Rilling has been active in patient care, research, and education in Interventional Oncology for over 15 years. As Education Counselor for the Society of Interventional Radiology, he co-directed the first three meetings to focus solely on IO beginning in 2001.
Dr. Rilling is active in many IO clinical trials and has a strong interest in showing cost effectiveness in IO therapies.
