Khashayar Farsad is Associate Professor of Interventional Radiology and Director of Research at the Dotter Interventional Institute. The Dotter Research Lab encompasses a 10,000 square foot facility dedicated to translational research for image-guided interventions and medical device development. Dr. Farsad oversees the research activities of the lab, including supervision of post-doctoral and international research fellows. Areas of active research include targeted therapies in orthotopic tumor models, refinement of the transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt procedure, venous stents, and clinical outcomes of interventional procedures.
Dr. Farsad earned his MD and PhD degrees from Yale University. He completed post-graduate training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Farsad is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology (FSIR), and actively serves on committees through the American Board of Radiology (ABR), the American Association of Digestive Disease Interventions (ASDDI), the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
