Kamran Ahrar, MD, MBA is a Professor in The Department of Interventional Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) in Houston, Texas. Shortly after he joined MD Anderson he established a minimally invasive percutaneous tumor ablation program. Today, percutaneous ablation, with or withouth tumor embolization, is a thriving program providing minimally invasive treatment options to many patients with liver, kidney, lung and bone tumors.
Dr. Ahrar has authored or co-authored over 80 peer reviewed articles in nationally recognized journals and 19 book chapters. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with a subspecialty in Interventional Radiology. He speaks regularly at national and international conferences and symposiums. Dr. Ahrar is a member of the American College of Radiology, Soceity of Interventional Radiology, American College of Healthcare Exectuives just to name a few.
